This stringer of halibut is from the trip I took to Anchorage, Alaska with  my good friend, Ron.
We drove from Anchorage and  fished for sockeye salmon or reds as they are called in Soldanta.
Then we went to Deep Creek where we chartered a boat to go fishing for halibut.

The first picture is 4lb. rainbow trout I caught trolling w/ leaded line and if I remember right on a silver FST. This fish was in such a hurry to get caught he jumped in the boat and knocked himself out. Which made it a lot easier to get him in the net that way.

The second picture is stringer of 2 to 3lb. rainbows caught on the same trip and method. I was fishing with my good friend Buzz Chevara and his Rhoda took the pictures on their annual camping trip to Leader Lake over Memorial Day weekend.



 

 
 
 

A STRINGER IS WHEN ALL OF THE FISH ARE IN THE BOAT AND THE TWO LARGEST FISH WERE CAUGHT BY THE YOUNGEST FISHERMAN.

 

A KEEPER IS A FISH THAT IS LONGER THAN YOU ARE TALL AND OUT WEIGHS YOU.

THIS IS THE CAPTAIN FROM THE SISTER BOAT OF OUR CHARTER AND THE HALIBUT WEIGHED 260 LBS.

In making it's first appearance in the Olympics Stunt Riding and Trick Roping were presented with an amazing upset as 14 year old Alexis Reed shocked the crowd with an upset win over the established riders from the NHRA. The teenager from Vermont took her stunts on her horse Papappa to exciting and daring levels as the crowd cheered her on. In the second part of the event she again stunned the crowd with the flair and style with her trick rope.

In the Second round of play in the 2016 World Cup two time defending champion Brazil was sent packing by the brick wall defense created by the two teenage cousins. Katy Reed and her cousin Geena Davis completely shut down the most explosive offense in the world. To add insult to injury Katy also blasted home the game winner on a perfect pass from Geena.
